I spend the last hours of daylight yearning for my kids to be asleep in bed. I love every ounce of them – even the naughty bits, but the days are long and hectic. After the house falls quiet, I enjoy my favorite hobby – sorting through my collection of the day’s photographs and falling in love with my dear ones all over again. Insanity. Yearning for them to be in bed, only so I can review images of the day’s chaos and joy.
But how can I help myself with a life loving family like this?
After a long “Back To School” Week, I was a wee bit desperate to not cook and to get out of the house. This desire was enhanced by the knowledge we would need to work hard to tire out my 2-year-old who had fallen asleep in my arms at 10am, and finally awoke refreshed at 2pm. I knew if we didn’t, she would be up until 10pm (which didn’t work, she was up until 10pm anyways). A picnic at the park on the first cool evening of the approaching fall season was just what we all needed.
Penny is not sure she wants to be on the moving bridge with her jumping sisters.
Ok, it’s not so bad now.
Certainly didn’t achieve perfect focus in this one, but there’s something about that look in her eyes.
Daddy gives the biggest pushes.
Squealing with delight.
This girl loves to swing. When I removed her from the swing after 40 minutes, she screamed in protest.
Those eyes. Those sweet, innocent eyes.
Go find a swing, enjoy the evening air. It’s worth it.
